About Us

The Furniture Group is a specialist design and refurbishment contractor for GP Practices and Health Centres. 

Our work supports the latest regulations published by the Care and Quality Commission to improve the quality and safety in healthcare environments. The Furniture Group is committed to providing the best possible refurbishment services for Practice Managers to help them satisfy Outcome 8 (Cleanliness and Infection Control) and Outcome 10 (Safety and Suitability of Premises) of the CQC Commission's 'Essential Standards of Quality and Safety'.

Since our beginnings in 2003, we have worked with over 70 practices in the South and South East of England. We are a one stop shop for Practice Managers wishing to work with an experienced, professional and reliable company specialising in the design, rebuild and refurbishment of GP surgeries and health centres.


Our knowledge base distinguishes us from other general trades. We design, build, fit and install according to the latest guidelines set out by the DH Health Technical Memoranda, Health Building Notes and Building Regulations including BS8300 (Design of buildings and their approaches to meet the needs of disabled people – Code of practice).

We follow the latest guidelines set out in HBN00-10 Parts A and C (formerly Health Technical Memorandums HTM61 and 64)- see our flooring section and sink installation section for more information, HBN00-03 (Clinical Spaces), HBN00-09 (Infection Control in the Built Environment), BS8300 (Design of buildings and their approaches to meet the needs of disabled people – Code of practice) and Approved Documents B, J, and M. 

We are passionate about our work and pride ourselves on providing a friendly, reliable service that works around the busy consulting times of a GP surgery. Our professional team of builders, plumbers, electricians, IT technicians, flooring technicians and joiners are all fully certified and are primed to work out of hours to minimise any disruption to GP services.

The Furniture Group are fully trained Access Auditors and members of the Centre for Accessible Environments.

We have full public, product and employers liability insurance. Certification is available on request.
