This 6 week refurbishment involved a complete redesign of the surgery layout to increase the size of clinical areas and waiting areas and to bring the surgery in line with CQC standards; a new reception desk includes a lower section for wheelchair users and a privacy screen provides confidentiality.
The WC was transformed into a universally accessible WC and the staff WCs were also upgraded to include a walk-in shower. We upgraded the electrical supply to the surgery to power the advanced IT capability and also the Air Conditioning system. In clinical areas and in the WCs, the flooring was replaced to meet HTM61 guidelines. New low surface temperature (LST) radiators were installed. A new suspended ceiling with LED lighting was fitted to modernise the surgery and to incorporate emergency lighting and a fire alarm system.
All three Consulting rooms were refurbished to include medical grade worktops and storage units and HTM64 compliant taps and sinks. All consulting rooms were furnished with examination couches, privacy curtains, examination lamps, desks, seating and vertical blinds. Walls were finished with anti-bacterial paint. Exterior and interior signage were installed to meet NHS brand guidelines.
