As part of the refurbishment project at Portslade Health Centre, The Furniture Group took on the task of designing and constructing a reception desk that not only met the aesthetic requirements but also adhered to the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) standards. This desk was specifically crafted to cater to the needs of both ambulant patients and wheelchair users, ensuring that the reception area was accessible and inclusive for all visitors.
In addition to the functional aspects, a safety screen made of toughened glass was strategically installed as part of the reception desk design. This safety screen serves a dual purpose - providing a physical barrier for protection while maintaining an open and welcoming atmosphere within the reception area. The use of toughened glass ensures durability and safety, meeting the necessary standards for a healthcare environment.
The attention to detail and compliance with DDA regulations by The Furniture Group not only enhanced the overall aesthetics of the reception area but also prioritised the comfort and safety of all individuals visiting the Portslade Health Centre. The thoughtful design and construction of the reception desk showcase a commitment to creating a space that is not only visually appealing but also functional and inclusive.
